phase 1
The starting line: 190 lb and a mountain in 2027
The goal is the Odyssée 100K at Boréalys in 2027. I am not ready for it yet. This is the record of becoming ready.
I am starting at 190 lb. The first objective is 165 lb by October 31, 2026. That is phase one: getting lighter, moving consistently, and creating habits that can survive long after the first target date.
The three phases
Phase one runs from now through October 31. The number is simple—25 pounds—but the point is not a short-lived push. The point is consistency: nutrition, easy volume, and daily movement.
From November into January or February, the focus shifts to foundation. I want durable aerobic fitness, useful strength, and enough resilience to absorb the work that follows.
After that, the real Boréalys training begins. The volume gets longer, the terrain gets steeper, and fueling and race craft become part of the plan. The specific schedule will follow the evidence instead of pretending the next year can be predicted perfectly today.
Making it public
There will be three versions of this journey:
- The journal will hold weekly recaps, adjustments, and longer notes.
- The YouTube series will document the work as it happens, not just the milestones.
- The data dashboard will publish health, recovery, fitness, and training data from Apple Health once the sync is connected.
Missing data will stay missing. Missed work will stay in the record. This is not a highlight reel assembled after the finish.
The course is waiting in Mont-Tremblant. Today is the starting line.
This is a personal training record, not medical or coaching advice.
